Happy New Year and Notes for the Second Semester!
Mardi Gras:
Plans for Mardi Gras are being put in place now. Reservations are made and final plans will be in place when everyone returns in January. Please note that we will have to confirm rooming list and make payments as soon as we return to school. Final figures will be available and given out along with a full itinerary and all information related to the trip. Please make plans to attend the Jan. 9th booster meeting which will address all questions related to our trip.
Winter Guard:
Winter Guard will rehearse on Tuesday, Jan. 2nd from 9 to 5 to stage their contest show. Please check our second semester calendar for contest dates. Rehearsals will be held at Concord Elementary school on Mondays and Thursdays.
Jazz Band:
All Festival and Rehearsal Jazz Band members will be registered for Jazz Band Class once contracts are returned. Please note the dates for Jazz Band on the enclosed schedule.
Region Band:
Region Band auditions will be the focus of class for the first couple of weeks of second semester Region auditions are Saturday, Jan 20th. Transportation will be provided and we have received times which are now posted in the band room.
Chamber Winds and Concert Band:
Plans are now being made for festival selections for both bands. Chamber will also return to Carowinds if money is available.
Show Planning:
We have made a decision for the 2007 fall show. It is actually a mix of two drum corps shows entitled Rocky Point Holiday and Harmonic Motion. CD's will be made available for those who would like to preview. This will be a special arrangement and music will be available in April.
Fruit Sale:
A big thanks to everyone who made this years fruit sale the second largest ever for the Hanna Bands. Sherri and Joe Ryan and all of the team captains and volunteers make the Hanna Sale one of the largest anywhere. Our program would not exist without the financial backing of this annual event. Over $2,000.00 worth of fruit was donated to local charity by our band family. Can goods were also donated at our Christmas Program and delivered to AIM.
Patron and Donor Program:
Please note the information on our web site in regard to our sponsor program. In an effort to keep the Fruit Sale as our only student sales program, we are asking all Hanna Band families to assist with the donor program. Please look over the information and help us to recruit business and individual partners.
