Schedule for the Week:

Tuesday: Pictures from 4 to 5:15 in the Mall Area

Wednesday: No Rehearsals

Thursday: Run Through Rehearsal from 4:00 to 5:00. Mrs. Bagley our superintendent, is treating us to dinner in the Mall Area immediately after practice.

Friday: Westside Hanna Game at Westside. Call Time will be 5:45 on the buses.

Region Band Money Is Due Now!

ALL THOSE INTERESTED IN WINTER GUARD WILL MEET ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH FROM 4:00 TO 5:30. PRACTICE FOR WINTER GUARD WILL BE ON MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS STARTING IN DECEMBER. We are going to integrate some percussion battery members in Winter Guard this year. Details on this will follow. The Winter Guard Schedule will be posted soon.

Tuba Christmas Registration Forms are at the White Board. Please fill out the form and place it in the file if you are interested.

If you are eligible for Honors Band please fill out and place the form in the file on the white board now.

Jazz Band Tryouts will be the week of November 12th. See Mr. Whitt for audition details. Music is available now.

There will be a mandatory meeting for FESTIVAL Jazz Ensemble students in regard to the Chicago trip. Details TBA JAZZ BAND CONTRACT WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE SOON.

The Next Fruit Sale Turn in will be November 20th. This is the last official turn date. We cannot accept orders past November 26th which is the Monday after Thanksgiving Break. DO YOUR PART NOW TO KEEP FEES LOW!!!

Thursday: Full Marching Band Rehearsal: 4:00 to 6:30

Batesburg Leesville is approximately a 2 hour drive
We will serve biscuits on the bus that morning and will provide food at the Contest after we perform. Remind Parents and Friends that this is an important day for us and audience support is a big part of our show!

UPPER STATE WEEK!

This Week in HannaLand

Monday: No Rehearsal
Tuesday: Full Band Rehearsal from 4:00 to 6:15
Wednesday: Battery Drum Line Rehearsal Only
Thursday: Full Band Rehearsal from 4:00 to 6:45 NOTE LATER DISMISSAL TIME
Friday: Football Game at Wren H.S. Call Time on the Bus at 5:30
This is Wren's Homecoming Game so Both Bands will perform after the game. We will stay for Wren's performance.


Saturday: UPPER STATE at Boiling Springs High School: Call Time at 12:30 on the Field

We will practice on Saturday at 12:30. Please eat before you come to the school. Snacks and drinks will be served but not lunch. You will have time to eat at the contest after we perform.

Please check your uniform now. We will need every possible advantage going into Saturday's performance. Shoes, gloves, pants etc.................


We need a big crowd of supporters for the Upper State Contest. Please remind your family and friends to come to Boiling Springs for the most important performance of the Season

Travel 2.8 miles and turn right just past the Boiling Springs 1st Baptist Church onto Old Furnace Road

Boiling Springs High School is 1.2 mile on your left

Sign Ups for Region Band and All State Jazz Auditions are up now!

Please sign up and give Mr. Whitt $7.00 for the registration fee now. We need approximately 60 students to audition to represent Hanna at this important state event.

Both Auditions are in January. See Mr. Whitt for your music and requirements.

Jazz Band Reading Sessions will Start on October 22nd.

UPPER STATE WEEK!

Week of October 8th

Congratulations Hanna Band on your Second Grand Championship!

Recap scores are posted on the board. This is the first time in many years that we have scored in the 90's at every contest. Also Drum Line has placed 1st in class three weeks in a row. The flag corps has placed 1st twice and they also placed 3rd overall at the Boiling Springs Contest our of 27 bands just behind Byrnes and Rock Hill!

There will no more Monday Marching band rehearsals as of October 8th.

Jazz Band Reading rehearsals will start on October 22nd.

Tuesday: Regular Rehearsal: 4:00 to 6:15 Full Band

Wednesday: Battery and Pit outside

Thursday: Regular Rehearsal: 4:00 to 6:15 Full Band

Friday: Home Game with Greenwood:
Call Time will be 5:45
We will march the full show at Halftime

The full Marching Band including Guard will perform at McCants for Red Ribbon Day on Wednesday, October 24th from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM.

Tuesday, October 30th will be picture day for full band and sections.

Thursday, November 1st will be a run through rehearsal for the Westside Game from 4:00 to 5:00.

If the team makes the playoffs, we will have run through rehearsals on Fridays before the games. This will be handled on a needs only basis.

Thanks to everyone on your help with the Fall Fund Raiser! It has been a great success and donations continue to come in. We are closing in on clearing between 8,000 to 10,000 in profits!!!!

Remember the all important Fruit Sale!!!! Get to your customers now as this is the
most important fund raiser that we do all year long!!!!!

It is imperative that everyone do their part in order for us to keep band fees low and to make plans for our Spring Trip!!!!!

Region Band music and Region Band music for Auditions are available now from Mr. Whitt. Get your copies now! Recording of the tryout music will be ready next week.

UPPER STATE IS LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20th! OUR PERFORMANCE TIME WILL BE AT 6:30 pm. WE NEED PARENTS AND FRIENDS TO MARK THIS DATE NOW AS WE WILL NEED AS MUCH SUPPORT AS POSSIBLE. AUDIENCE SUPPORT CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE WITH THE OUTCOME OF ANY CONTEST.

Random Events:

Christmas Tree Lighting in Columbia on Sunday, November 25th. If you are a region band participant from previous years you are eligible. This is an all day event at the State House in Columbia on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Sign ups will be posted later.

Tuba Christmas at Polk County High School on Saturday, December 1st. All Day Event and Evening Concert for all interested Tuba and Baritone Players.

Flute Clinic at Bob Jones University in Greenville for all interested flute players of all levels. Cost is $10.00 per student. This is also on Saturday, December 1st.
