Homecoming and Senior Recognition this week!


The Week of Oct. 20th

Monday: Jazz Band Optional Reading Rehearsal: 4:00 to 5:30

Tuesday: Full Band

Wednesday: Early Dismissal Day (No Practice)

Thursday: Full Band Practice 4:00 to 5:30 (Ice Cream After Practice)

Friday: Home Game with Wren: HOMECOMING AND SENIOR NIGHT

Band Seniors will be recognized at the Homecoming Pep Rally.

Band Seniors and their parents will be recognized during Halftime at the Football Game on Friday

We would like to thank everyone for all their hard work and dedication. While we did not make State Finals this year, we are confident that our organization will move forward and continue to grow and provide the very best opportunities for all of our students.

We had hoped to be able to schedule an alternate contest this Saturday, however the logistics and costs issues have prevented us from making this possible.

Mon: October 27th: Jazz Band Reading Rehearsal

Tues. October 28th: Picture Day for the Annual: 4:00 to 5:30 (Bring Band Pants)

Wed: October 29th: Meeting for those interested in Indoor Percussion

Thur: October 30th: Short Marching Band Rehearsal for Laurens Game

Fri: October 31st: Laurens Game Away: Call Time 5:00
Thur: November 6th: Short Marching Band Rehearsal for Westside Game

Fri: November 7th: Westside Game at Home Call Time 6:15


IF THE FOOTBALL TEAM GOES INTO THE PLAYOFF, WE WILL LIMIT THE MARCHING BAND REHEARSALS TO BRIEF RUN THROUGHS ON FRIDAYS BEFORE THE GAMES.

Jazz Band will rehearse every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30

JAZZ BAND TRYOUTS WILL BE HELD ON November 10, 11 AND 13.


Region Band Registration

The deadline for Region Band and All State Jazz Registration is November 5th.

Please see Mr. Whitt now for information. The registration fee is $10.00

All Students are strongly encouraged to tryout for Region Band, which will qualify them for Honors Credit for Band. Region Band participants are also eligible for scholarship opportunities as well as college and university clinics and festivals.


Indoor Drum Line and Winter Guard will be starting soon.

Please remember the importance of the Fruit Sale for our Program. This sale supports the majority of all Booster Expenses for our Program including all uniforms, equipment and truck and trailer costs.

Remember that this sale helps us to individual costs down for all of our students!
The last turn in Date will be the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Snack Lunch/Dress, Load Bus @ 10:30
Leave Hanna at 11:00
Our Performance Time will be 3:30
Please mark this date and time as we need parent support for this important performance!
If we make top six at Upper State we will advance to State on October 25th at Batesburg Leesville
Our performance time will be determined by our placement at Upper State

Region Band Music is also available. Sign up now! The fee is $10.00

If you are interested in attending the Winthrop Clinic, please pick up the information at the White Board. I need to know who is interested this week!

REMEMBER FRUIT SALE!

We also hope to sell a record number of fruit for Charity this year.
We consider this an important project for our organization and the community.

BOOSTER MEETING OCTOBER 14TH AT 7:15 IN THE BAND ROOM
If you are interested in indoor drum line please sign up on the sheet on the percussion closet. You do not have to be a percussionist to participate.
