First Contest Week!



Important Notice!



Flag Corps Will Practice at McCants again this Monday from 4:00 to 6:15. Those girls who need rides should report to the band room immediately after school.



Monday: Full Band from 4:00 to 6:15

(Guard at McCants)



Tuesday: Full Band from 4:00 to 6:15



Wednesday: Officer Meeting Directly after school



Thursday: Full Band from 4:00 to 6:15



Friday: Away Game at Byrnes

Call time 5:30 PM



Saturday: First Contest at Pickens County HS in Jasper, Ga.

Call Time 10:00 AM



Schedule for Saturday:



Rehearsal: 10:00 -11:15

Lunch: 11:15 to 12:00

Dress and Load: 12:00-12:30

Depart for Jasper: 12:30

Performance Time @ Jasper: 7:40









A map and a full schedule of the contest will be posted on Tuesday.







Reminders:



ü As of now, we will have access to 50 tickets for the Wofford Game performance. These tickets are $10.00 apiece and will be reserved in order of payment. We are requesting more tickets but have not received confirmation as of this weekend.

We need a volunteer parent to chair the Spaghetti Supper

fund-raiser which is tentatively scheduled for November 5th.

Food and Drinks Needs for Competitions and Games:



Drinks needed:



1 case(12cans) or 1 cube (24cans) Sunkist, Orange Crush, Dr.Pepper and Cokes or Pepsi - no store brands. He said we would need 35 cases in next few weeks! We have 5 to possibly 7 games left (if do playoffs) and 5 competitions and 1 performance that he will need drinks for the kids.





Food items needed for competitions and Wofford performance:



Any parents that have not yet volunteered to send food items or have not been contacted about sending food for the competitions, please call Barbara Falco at 231-8963 or e-mail her at goferco@yahoo.com Or contact Yvonne Boggs at cyboggs@charter.net to forward to Barbara.

Yeah, We are covered for this week, 9/25/10, but there are 5 more weekends coming up.



We need each time around 200 to 250 of each (and if feed twice, it doubles)



Sandwiches: we need 30 sandwiches per parent, can be PB&J, meat, meat & cheese - no pimento cheese.Please, wrap them individually then place in larger bags or back in the loaf bag and label so as for allergies as well as we will ice ones for trips.



Chips: individual snack packs, Frito/Lays/Doritos come 20-22 per store package or I am told Sam's Club brand come 50 to a box. Need 2 packages of Lays, etc per parent for 40+ or 1 Sam's 50 count box. You may send more if you like as will be used for the games.



Cookies/brownies/cupcakes - no frosting please: Need 3 cookies in a baggie and need 40 baggies per parent. For brownies or cupcakes, need 40 per parent wrapped individually.



We also need some help getting all this together on these Saturdays so we may ask some of you to come help feed them, pack and get all on the busses! And, do any of you have rolling ice chests we could borrow each week? Will need 3 or 4.

Monday’s Flag Corps Practice will be held at the McCants Fine Arts Center from 4:00 to 6:15

Those girls who need a ride should report to the band room immediately after school. Parents will be at the McCants Fine Arts Center to chaperone and assist any guard members. We apologize for the late notice.


A Big Thanks to everyone who came out Saturday to help during the Mini Camp!
We were able to get a great deal of work done, and all of the props are painted and ready to use!

Fruit Booster Meeting !

Please Mark the Date for the most important Booster Meeting of the Year!

Thursday, September 16th @ 7:15
This will serve as the kick off for our Fruit Sale!
This is our one Major Fund-Raiser
This will affect all that we do for our students.
Parent support is essential to the success of this sale
and our program.

First Contest!

As scheduled, Our First Contest is September 25th!
Only two weeks away!
We have decided to travel to Jasper Ga. To Pickens County High School instead
of Boiling Springs for our First Show.

Our performance time will be between 7 and 8 that evening.
Specifics on times will be released next week as soon as we receive them.

Wofford Game

Parents who wish to go to the Wofford Game Performance on Oct. 2nd may purchase tickets for $10.00. We will take reservations for these tickets at the Booster Meeting on Thursday. We have been given an allotment of 50 tickets, so make sure to reserve yours now. The Game is currently scheduled for 1:30.
A Specific time line will be released as soon as Wofford confirms call times and logistics.

Honors Credit

This is the last call for those students who wish to receive Honors Credit for Band. Forms are available at the white board. We have to get this information to the Guidance Department now.

Region Band and Jazz Band

Region Band Audition Music and Jazz Band Information/Audition Music is now Available.

Students who are interested in trying our for Jazz Band
should sign up now. Information and the sign up sheets are posted in the inner hallway just outside the band room.
